Austrian Start-Up in RFID gets funding

RF-iT Solutions, a developer of RFID software and services, offering an RFID software platform for system integrators and software producers, closed a EUR 4 million first round of financing. The round included investment from Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH, PONTIS Venture Partners Management, and Truffle Venture.

Takeaways: RFID is clearly a very promising area with a lot of buzz and excitement out there. However, unfortunately, many customer projects in the RFID space start slowly with a little prototype or pilot project and the big roll-outs and deployments still need to happen. Let’s cross our fingers for 2007 and beyond.
